A smile or sense of joy is usually what emotions are released when hearing the words "NEXT ROUND'S ON ME".  In this painting I wanted to flip the emotions.  Having a crosshair unknowingly on your back while riding through a high walled canyon would surely send shivers up your spine.  This painting allows the viewer to imagine the WHY of the scenario and also the outcome.  Did the shooter actually pull the trigger?  Did he miss?  Why would he shoot someone in the back?  Is the rider a bandit or ???  The questions are endless and I believe a subject matter such as this one is what brings alive all the emotions a piece of art should embody,  Not only pleasant to look at but thought provoking and conversation worthy.
